Thanksgiving. . . really? in March? . . . Yep.

The eve of Thanksgiving we made our first visit to the SEMO fitness center.
(Now 4 of the kids are on the swim team that practices there.)

We LOVE swimming.

It was a friend's birthday, so we went over to his house afterwards for cake, ice cream, and a little Studio C.  Isn't it funny that with all the big tv's out there, we tend to crowd around little computer screens and iphones?

Thanksgiving was pretty sweet.
We missed our usual peeps from Vegas. . . we had actually begun some traditions there!

But it was great to get to know some other people.
(The Thomsons and some of their teenage friends, the Dixons, missionaries, a famous chef - he wasn't too impressed - and Amber and her mom, who we had just met that week.  Amber had come to seminary with Aubrey.)

The Vegas tradition of 4 (or should we say "many") square made it's Missouri appearance.

We had enough people to have 2 separate 6-square games going.
When you got out at one game you would go into the line for the other game and vice versa, so we all got a chance to play against everyone.

Dessert was overflowingly delicious.

And "Shark Week" reigned in the basement.

An impromptu music night ensued. . .

. . . and everybody left.

So, very spontaneously last minute - in fact to the very minute to make it on time,
we decided to pile in the van and go see "Frozen".

(The last time we went to the movies all together was on another Thanksgiving with Grandma and Grandpa Baird.  We saw "Megamind".)

"Frozen" was a special treat to end a wonderful Thanksgiving.
