New Year's Day we took off to visit Jeremy's sister, Kerri, who recently moved to sunny California.
It was DEE-lightful to be in warmer weather surrounded by green and flowers.
Though we got a late start leaving Vegas, we got to the beach in time for the sunset.

While Kerri showed the little girls how to poke sea anemones,
the bigger kids took to exploring the exposed rocks.

Back at Kerri and Jeff's home, we downed yummy sloppy joes and tater tots, washed down with California Dreamin'.
They didn't even blink at having 10 extra people to feed.
We finished up New Year's Day with a movie,
cozy and full.
